CloudSat Product Stats - Algorithm Developer Edition
Product Availability: Full mission availability except for anomalies and maneuver data gaps.
The CloudSat Radar-Only Cloud Water Content Product (2B-CWC-RO) contains retrieved estimates of cloud liquid and ice water content, effective radius, and related quantities for each radar profile measured by the Cloud Profiling Radar on CloudSat. Retrievals are performed separately for the liquid and ice phases; the two sets of results are then combined in a simple way to obtain a composite profile that is consistent with the input measurements.

CloudSat releases algorithm uncertainty study

The CloudSat algorithm development leads have completed a synthesis of algorithm uncertainties. The synopsis describes the known uncertainties in the Cloudsat algorithms and provides the relevant technical and peer reviewed references for data end-users. The algorithm development team plans to update the document periodically as new data releases become available.

R04 of 2B-CWC-RO released to General Science Community

Release 4 of 2B-CWC-RO (cloud water content - liquid and ice) is now available to the General Science Community via the data ordering system.
 
All data users are asked to review the known issues page, on-line product specifications, and the summary of changes. If you have any questions concerning the ordering process, contact the DPC.

2006

2B-CWC-RO released to the Science Team

December 22, 2006
The 2B-CWC-RO product is now being generated for release to the Science Team. After a brief review period it will be released to the general science community.
