Here is an example of what you will see in the Search area of the Data Ordering System:

search

There are two sections on a Search page. The column to the left is the Search Criteria section. The area to the right is the File List section.

Search Criteria

In order to search for data that will appear in the File List section, first set your search criteria as detailed below and then press the Search button.

Start & End Time

Here is where you choose a range of times to search for data from.

·The first row of drop down boxes contains the starting date and time.
·The second row of drop down boxes contains the ending date and time.

Orbit Selection

Here is where you can search for orbits by orbit number or by circular geographic area.

The first line contains text boxes for searching by orbit number.

·Single - single orbit number to search for. Entering a value here overrides anything in the "First" and "Last" text boxes.

·First - first orbit number in a range of orbits to search for. Leaving "Last" blank will search for any orbits greater than or equal to this "First" orbit number.
·Last - last orbit number in a range of orbits to search for. Leaving "First" blank will search for any orbits less than or equal to this "Last" orbit number.

The second line contains text boxes for searching by circular geographic area. An orbit will be selected if any part of it falls within the specified geographic area.

·Lat - latitude of the center point.
·Lon - longitude of the center point.
·Rad - radius of the circular area in kilometers.

Product Selection

·Click on the drop down box to select a specific product.

Search

·Click on the Search button to search for data based on the criteria set above.
·Click on the More options link to show more advanced search options (see next section for more details).

Search Criteria (more options)

There are additional options for more advanced users that can be accessed by clicking the More options link. The new options include additional search criteria as well as output formatting and subsetting. Here is an example of the Search Criteria section when More options is enabled:

Orbit Selection

In addition to the basic options mentioned above, here are a few new orbit selection criteria.

·Good - Minimum percentage of good data required from an orbit. Bad profiles are ones that are missing or dropped due to a bad CRC.
·Land - Minimum percentage of data over land required from an orbit.

·Only orbits that contain calibration manuevers - Check this box if you would only like orbits that contain calibration manuevers.

Product Selection

A drop down box is added to the right of the CloudSat product drop down box.

·The new drop down box contains the output format of the data. Formats include HDF-EOS4 and binary.

Output Subsetting

This new section allows you to subset your output data.

·Name - Choose a unique subset name for identifying the output files that will be listed. (If you choose specific fields for your subset, you MUST name the subset.)
·Lat/Lon/Rad subset - Check this box if you would like to subset the data based on the Lat, Lon, and Rad entered in the Orbit Selection section above.

You can also choose to select only specific fields from a product for your output files. These fields can be selected on a per product basis and will be available if you have selected a specific product from the drop down list in the Product Selection section above.

·Header Fields - Check boxes to select specific header fields. Click on "Select All" to select all header fields or click on "Unselect All" to unselect all header fields.
·Profile Fields - Check boxes to select specific profile fields. Click on "Select All" to select all profile fields or click on "Unselect All" to unselect all profile fields.

File List

Here is where you can view the list of files for your chosen date and product/granule. You can also select a file or files for adding to your cart, see a Quicklook browse image of a file, and view the size of a file.

Selecting Files and Adding them to Your Cart

·Click Select All Files to select all of the files in the list.
·Click Unselect All to unselect all of the files in the list.
·Click on a checkbox next to a file to select or unselect only that file.
·Click on Add Selected To Cart to add the currently selected files to your cart. Files that have been added to your cart will be shown in gray. The Cart link on the top banner of the web page will be updated to show the new total size of the files in your cart.

View a Quicklook Image

·Click Quicklook on the line of a file to open a new window with an HTML Quicklook browse image display for that file:
